Tadros Plastic Surgery
Body Surgery With Plastic Surgeon Mr Amir Tadros
(MED0001375519)
Body surgery encompasses procedures designed to reshape, lift, or remove excess skin and fat to improve body contours. These procedures can be especially helpful after weight fluctuations, pregnancy, or for patients seeking improved proportion, comfort, or function.
Body surgery addresses areas affected by weight change, pregnancy, ageing, or genetics. These procedures aim to reshape contours, remove excess skin or fat, and restore proportion. Patients often seek body surgery to improve comfort, mobility, and body confidence, particularly after major weight loss or pregnancy.
Abdominoplasty
At Amir Tadros FRACS, the procedure is intended for reshaping the abdomen—not as a weightloss solution.
Two main approaches are described:
- A full abdominoplasty removes fatty tissue below the navel, elevates the abdominal skin from the muscles down to the bikiniline scar, repositions the navel and tightens the abdominal (midline) muscles to improve shape and waistline.
- A mini abdominoplasty addresses only the lower abdomen. The scar is typically shorter (just beyond a caesarean scar), the navel remains undisturbed and muscle tightening is optional (and can be discussed). Liposuction is often used in conjunction with the mini approach.
Scar appearance and healing vary: in the early weeks the scars may appear pink/purple, gradually fading to white; though some patients can form raised or stretched scars. Pre-surgery preparation includes providing a full medical history, avoiding over the counter medications (especially aspirin, ibuprofen, NSAIDs) and herbal supplements for a few days prior and after surgery; smokers are advised to stop smoking six weeks before and after surgery to minimise risks.

Recovery details:
- Surgery duration: approximately 45 minutes to 2.5 hours depending on extent; general anaesthetic is usual.
- Hospital stay: usually two nights for full abdominoplasty, sometimes three; minis often one night.
- Dressings: Patients wake with glue or steristrips, heavy abdominal strapping is removed on discharge and lighter dressings usually for 7-10 days.
- Drains: Commonly used for 48–72 hours to remove blood/fluid.
- Support garment (abdomen binder/corset): Worn for about 4 weeks, especially worn much of the first 10 days.
- Return to work: Many patients may be mobile by 2 weeks and return to nonstrenuous work at that time; those in physically active roles may require longer.
- Exercise: Walking at 7–10 days, swimming typically by 3 weeks (if healed); strenuous exercise avoided for ~8 weeks.
- Driving: Wait until you can perform an emergency stop comfortably (up to three weeks).
- Followup: Wound check around day 5, then a review at 3 months (no extra charge for that followup). The final outcome becomes optimal after 4–6 months as tissues soften and settle.
Abdominoplasty Risks & Complications
- Loss of skin: Rare, but more likely if too much tissue is removed or in higherrisk patients (smokers, obese, diabetic). This can lead to prolonged recovery and poorer quality scarring.
- Scarring: Scar quality varies widely between individuals; some may form raised or stretched scars.
- Seroma: Accumulation of fluid beneath the skin which may present as a firm swelling and typically needs needle aspiration.
- Bleeding: Approximately 1 % risk of a blood clot forming in the abdomen within the first 24 hours that may require return to theatre.
- Infection: Uncommon, but may require antibiotic treatment.
- Pain: Some patients experience significant discomfort, especially when muscle tightening has been done; may persist for several weeks.
- Sensory loss: Altered or absent sensation may occur in the area just above the scar in the midline.
- Pulling of pubic hair/skin: The pubic hair, mons area or groin may be pulled somewhat if closure is very tight; this usually improves as tissues settle.
- Blood clots to legs or lungs (DVT/PE): Rare but serious; risk increases if patient smokes, is very overweight or remains immobile after surgery.

Liposuction
Amir Tadros highlights that it is designed for localised fat removal, not as a weightloss solution or a treatment for cellulite. The procedure works by suctioning out fat via small incisions (24 mm) and relies on the skin’s ability to contract afterwards. Factors such as skin quality, elasticity, age and the specific area treated influence the final contour.
Typical surgery time ranges from 45 minutes to 2 ½ hours, and the stay may be same day or overnight depending on recovery.

Liposuction Risks & Complications
While liposuction is commonly performed with positive results, it carries risks which you should be aware of. Potential issues include small degrees of asymmetry, where one side might heal differently from the other.
Some skin irregularity or altered sensation may occur and usually resolves within the first week. There is also the risk of more general surgical complications such as bleeding, bruising, infection, and in rare cases blood clots in the legs or lungs (DVT/PE).
Importantly, even though fat cells removed won’t return, those remaining may expand if weight is regained, so maintaining a stable weight is critical.
Liposuction Costs
The surgical fees for liposuction depend on the number of body areas treated. Prices as of August 2025. There can be some variation of costs with complexity of problem and hospital used. A full quotation will be provided after consultation.
- Small (1 body areas): $2000
- Medium ( 2 body areas): $3800
- Large (3 body areas): $5600

Thigh Lift
It is not intended as a method for weight loss or fat reduction alone. The procedure may involve surgical excision of skin (typically along the groin or inner thigh) and sometimes liposuction as an adjunct to improve contour. Depending on the extent of loose skin (inner, outer or circumferential thigh), the incision and surgical plan are tailored accordingly.

Thigh Lift Risks & Complications
As with any surgery, a thigh lift comes with potential risks that should be clearly discussed. These include bleeding, infection, seroma (fluid build up), wound breakdown or delayed healing—especially in patients who smoke, have poor skin quality, are overweight or have other medical conditions. Scarring is inevitable; while the aim is to place scars discreetly (e.g., in the groin crease), some may extend down the inner thigh and take many months to settle. Altered skin sensation, asymmetry, persistent swelling and the need for further surgery are also possible. Longterm results are better when weight is stable and lifestyle is maintained.
Thigh Lift Costs
Prices as of August 2025. The surgical fee is from $12,400. Please note that there will be a hospital admission and anaesthetic fee depending on the location.
The precise cost of a thigh lift varies depending on the complexity of the procedure, the number of areas treated (inner/outer/thigh circumference), hospital stay, anaesthetic, garments and followup care. Specific pricing will be discussed during your consultation with Mr Amir Tadros where a detailed quote will cover all relevant fees and options for your case.
Thigh Lift Frequently Asked Questions
What recovery time is needed?
What kind of scars should I expect?
The scar’s length and placement vary—inner thigh lifts may have a scar in the groin crease, whereas more extensive lifts may include a vertical component down the inner thigh. Scars fade over 12-18 months with proper care.
Can I combine this with liposuction?
Is a thighlift a weightloss procedure?
Will the results last permanently?

Gynaecomastia (Male Breast Reduction)
The condition, often resulting from hormonal changes, excess fat, or a combination of both, can cause discomfort or embarrassment. The surgery typically involves the removal of excess glandular tissue and fat from the breast area. Depending on the severity, liposuction may be used alongside direct tissue excision to achieve the desired chest contour. This procedure helps restore a more masculine chest appearance and is suitable for men who have not had success with weight loss or other nonsurgical options.

Gynaecomastia Risks & Complications
As with all surgeries, male breast reduction carries some risks and potential complications. These may include bleeding, infection, scarring, and changes in nipple sensation. In rare cases, the tissue may not be completely removed, leading to the need for further treatment. Some patients may experience asymmetry or contour irregularities. While scars are usually discreet, they can take several months to fully heal and fade. It’s essential for patients to follow postoperative care instructions to reduce the risk of complications and ensure optimal healing.
Gynaecomastia Costs
Prices as of August 2025. The surgical fee is based on the surgery. Minor bilateral $9,800, Major Bilateral $14,800. Please note that there will also be a hospital and anaesthetic fee.

Brachioplasty (Arm Lift)
The goal is to improve the contour of the upper arms by excising the redundant tissue, tightening the remaining skin and creating a smoother, firmer appearance. While liposuction may be used as an adjunct if there is surplus fat, the primary aim is correcting skin excess rather than using it as a substitute for weight loss.

Brachioplasty Risks & Complications
While many patients achieve good results, armlift (brachioplasty) surgery carries a set of risks that must be understood. These include bleeding or collection of blood (haematoma), fluid build up (seroma), delayed wound healing or wound breakdown, infection, permanent or temporary changes in arm sensation, visible or raised scars, asymmetry between the arms, and stretching of the scar if skin is tightened too aggressively. It’s especially important to be in good health, at a stable weight and avoid smoking before surgery to reduce risk.
Brachioplasty Costs
Prices as of August 2025. The surgical fee is from $12,400. Please note that there will be a hospital admission and anaesthetic fee depending on the location.
The cost of an arm lift (brachioplasty) varies according to how much skin and tissue needs removal, whether one or both arms are treated, hospital stay, anaesthetic, garments and follow up care. Because each case is unique, the specific fee will be provided during your consultation with Mr Amir Tadros. At that appointment you’ll receive a personalised quote covering all relevant costs.
Brachioplasty Frequently Asked Questions
How long does recovery take?
What kind of scars should I expect?
Can liposuction alone fix this issue?
If excess skin (rather than just fat) is the main issue, liposuction alone may be insufficient; an arm lift (brachioplasty) is required when there is significant loose skin.
Will results last?
Is this a weightloss procedure?
No — arm lift surgery is best for people who are close to their ideal weight and have sagging skin that doesn’t improve with diet or exercise alone.
Brachioplasty Next Steps
When you’re ready to explore an arm lift you should schedule a consultation with Mr Amir Tadros. At this meeting you’ll discuss your goals, have an assessment of your arm anatomy and skin quality, and obtain a treatment plan that outlines what the surgery involves and how recovery will be managed. ACNES Release
The goal of the surgery is to relieve the entrapment and restore normal sensation and comfort in the abdomen. It is not a cosmetic procedure—it’s aimed at resolving persistent abdominal wall pain where other causes have been excluded. The assessment includes pinpointing the tender spot, confirming nerve involvement (often via localanaesthetic injection), and then planning a tailored surgical release.
