Non-Surgical Treatments With Plastic Surgeon Mr Amir Tadros

(MED0001375519)

For many patients, non-surgical options offer ways to rejuvenate or refresh appearance with less downtime, lower risk, and more gradual results. These are ideal for addressing fine lines, skin texture, volume loss, or when surgery is not yet desired.

Non-surgical treatments offer patients an option for facial or skin enhancement with minimal downtime. These include injectable treatments like Botox and dermal fillers, as well as skin therapies such as peels, laser treatments, or microneedling. They are commonly chosen for reducing fine lines, restoring lost volume, or refreshing skin quality. Results are generally temporary, with ongoing treatment often recommended for maintenance.

Botox / Neuromodulators

Injectable wrinkle treatment uses botulinum toxin to relax targeted facial muscles and soften lines (e.g., frown lines, crow’s feet, forehead, neck and mouth).

With selective placement, the eyebrow position can be subtly adjusted for a more open look. The medicine is placed in very small amounts through the skin into the underlying muscles; no anaesthetic is used, though the skin may be cooled with ice. Botulinum toxin has been used in medical practice for more than 30 years. It can also be used for underarm sweating, and in some cases may assist migraine symptoms.

Exercise the treated muscles every five minutes for the first hour to help the product engage. Avoid alcohol, sleeping immediately, and tight-fitting headwear before and right after treatment to reduce bruising or product movement.
No time off work is usually needed beyond the day of treatment. Avoid strenuous exercise on the day; you can resume normal activity afterwards. Driving ability is not affected.
Provide a full medication list at assessment. As a precaution, avoid over-the-counter medicines and herbal remedies prior to treatment and for 3 days after. Do not take aspirin, ibuprofen or NSAIDs over this period unless advised otherwise.

Dermal Fillers / Injectables

Fillers are a treatment used to improve wrinkles and skin grooves, and to enhance areas such as the lips, chin and cheeks that may appear thinner with age.

Fillers can be categorised as temporary or permanent. Permanent fillers use fat taken from the patient’s own body, while temporary fillers most commonly use hyaluronic acid-based products, such as Juvederm. These products can help soften fine lines, restore volume and improve facial contour. Treatment is performed as a day procedure and typically takes between 15–45 minutes depending on the filler used.

Skin Resurfacing

Skin resurfacing removes the top layer of skin on the face, neck, chest or hands to address thinning, wrinkles, irregularities, blemishes (including acne scarring) and pigmentation.

Mr Amir Tadros most commonly performs chemical peels using the Obagi System (15–20% trichloroacetic acid). Dermabrasion may be considered for acne scarring, depending on the case. Skin preparation is important: active creams (e.g., tretinoin/Retin-A and hydroquinone) are used for six weeks prior to improve healing and reduce pigmentation change. Chemical peels are performed in-clinic; dermabrasion is a hospital procedure under local or general anaesthetic.
